Breakfast at West Town Bakery

West Town Bakery was my choice for breakfast and coffee with my sister Sydney this past Saturday.

West Town Bakery has four locations throughout Chicago, In the Financial District, in West Town, In River North, and where I went, in Wrigleyville.

West Town Bakery has quite an extensive menu, with anything from breakfast sandwiches and baked goods to Coffee and Tea.

I ordered the standard bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, and a large hot coffee. My sister, being unoriginal ordered the same sandwich as me, along with a matcha – her favorite.

” This is honestly one of the best Matcha’s I’ve has in a while,” said Sydney. “A little pricy, but I am pleasantly surprised, not too sweet, just how I like it.”

I agreed in regards to my drink. The Coffee was definitely above average. However, both our drinks were over four dollars, but I guess that’s kind of the norm with these specialty breakfast shops.

Our sandwiches were huge, and quite hard to finish. We agreed they were a little too big, I honestly prefer a Dunkin’ Donuts breakfast sandwich over these. “The egg patty is enormous, there’s no way I can finish this,” Sydney said.

Our sandwiches were the cheapest on the menu at 6 dollars. However, the Pulaski Park was $17.95 and consisted of smoked salmon, carrot-caper, cucumber, pickled onion, and arugula on an everything bagel. Still trying to figure out why it’s almost $20.

Overall the place has a nice vibe and the staff is awesome. If you’re looking for a chill sit-down coffee shop/bakery I would tell you to try it out, but don’t forget your wallets!
